Updated Nepal Travel Advice: 2022

Traveling to Nepal now is easiest since the covid-19 has arrived. even for the non-vissicanated travellers!

As per the recent Information Released by the Government of Nepal on 14th march 2022 you can get a Visa on Arrival / Nor Quarantine for those who are fully vaccinated as well as those who are unvaccinated/ not vaccinated.

All of you must have been bored since the hazard of Covid-19. As well with travel restrictions across the world, where interested travel could not enjoy a holiday abroad. The good time has just arrived!

As the country has made easy and smooth mandatory for eager visitors to Nepal, where one travels within the Himalayas region. Without any problem of strict norms and regulation, like it was in the past years, except for some few health formalities.

Updated Notice on 14th March 2022 for Travelers arriving in Nepal


As per the decision of the Government of Nepal regarding the travel management order for the Travellers and the passengers arriving  to and departing from Nepal, the travel advisory for the passengers traveling to and from Nepal has been issued and updated as follows:

1. for Visa-on-Arrival for fully Vaccinated Travellers:


Foreigners with complete vaccination and eligible for visa on arrival as per the prevailing immigration rules can apply for the visa at the immigration entry point of Nepal with the following documents in addition to those required for visa:

  • a. Evidence of completion of 14 days of vaccination against Covid-19

  • b. A printed copy of the International Traveler Online Arrival Form obtained after online registration in www.ccmc.gov.np

2. For Visa on Arrival without complete vaccination against COVID-19:


As per the recent Information Released by the Government of Nepal on 14th March 2022, Foreigners without vaccination or incomplete vaccination can get a Visa on Arrival too and no need to stay Quarantine. You can apply for the visa at the immigration entry point of Nepal with the following documents in addition to those required for the visa:

  • a. COVID-19  test negative report obtained within 72 hours of the departure from the first port of embarkation.

  • b. A printed copy of the International Traveler Online Arrival Form obtained after online registration in www.ccmc.gov.np

4. Regulations for the foreigners staying in Nepal:


Foreigners staying in Nepal should mandatorily wear masks, Show the vaccination card while participating in any public program in Nepal. However, foreigners without vaccination or incomplete vaccination will not be deprived from the visa regulations and arrival/departure from land ports and airports according to this notice.

5. Special provision for traveling with children:


No Vaccination or PCR testing is required for minors below 5 years. Vaccinations are not mandatory for children between 5-18 years but are subject to follow the other health protocols as adults.

6. Provision for foreigners entering Nepal via Land ports:


  • A. For Indian Nationals:

  • Indian nationals arriving in Nepal through entry/exit at land border shall show the fully vaccinated certificate. if you are not vaccinated you shall submit the Printed documents of the COVID-19 negative report obtained within 72 hours of the departure from the first port of embarkation.

  • B. For Other Nationals Except for Indian:

  1. Foreigners except Indian nationals entering Nepal by the land port will be granted an arrival visa and entry permit on the basis of the following documents:

  2. Evidence of completion of 14 days of vaccination against Covid-19,

  3.  COVID-19 negative report obtained within 72 hours of the departure from the first port of embarkation. only if you are not fully Vaccinated.

  4. A printed copy of the International Traveler Online Arrival Form obtained after online registration in www.ccmc.gov.np

Note: Nationals from Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine. Afghanistan & Syria and foreigners holding temporary travel documents and emergency passports must obtain visas from the Nepal Mission abroad.
